Want to call someone without them seeing your number? Maybe to surprise your besties, or to call your ex for a little chat (we don't judge 😏). Anyway, it’s super easy and in this blog I’ll show you exactly how to call anonymously with your iPhone, Samsung, or Android phone.

What is anonymous calling?

Okay okay — let’s quickly explain what anonymous calling actually means. It’s basically the same as a normal call, the only difference is that your caller ID is hidden. So the person you’re calling won’t see your number. Instead, it’ll say ‘Unknown number’.

Fun fact: you can’t block or call back an anonymous number… heheh 😈😇

The easiest way to call anonymously!

The simplest way to call someone anonymously — whether you have an iPhone, Samsung, or Android — is by typing #44# before the phone number you want to call. Super easy, right? Here’s a little checklist:

Open your call app
Type #44#
Enter the phone number
Call anonymously

Disclaimer! This method works only once per call. So if you want to stay anonymous, you’ll have to type #44# each time. Also, it only works for English numbers. If you’re calling your international besties, replace 44 with the correct country code.

How to call anonymously with an iPhone

Are you an iPhone queen who wants to call without caller ID? Your Apple phone has a built-in option for this:

Open the Settings app
Go to "Phone"
Select "Show My Caller ID"
Turn off Show My Caller ID by swiping the slider to the left

With this method you’ll always call anonymously and won’t have to type #44# every time. Super chill!

At some point, it might get annoying if you’re calling literally everyone anonymously. So you can also choose to call only certain numbers anonymously.

Open the Contacts app
Select the contact you want to call anonymously
Tap "Edit"
Tap the number
Add #44# in front of the number
Hit "Done"

How to call anonymously on Samsung or Android

Our queens with Samsung or Android phones can also call without caller ID. It works a little differently than on Apple smartphones, but it’s still super easy.

Open the Phone app
Tap the three dots
Select "Settings"
Choose "Supplementary services"
Tap "Show caller ID"
Select "Hide number"

There are quite a few Android phones out there, so the exact steps may vary a bit. But by following these steps, you’ll definitely get there. You got this!

Just like on iPhones, you can choose to call only certain numbers anonymously.

Open the Contacts app
Find the number you want to call privately
Tap the pencil icon to edit
Tap the number
Add #44# in front of the number
Hit "Save"
